About the Author

Omar Mohammed is an Iraqi-American writer and journalist. He is the author of two novels, Have Iraq in My Shoe and The Miracle of the Haunted Boy, and a memoir, The Stranger in the Mirror. Mohammed's work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and The Atlantic. He is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop and a recipient of a Whiting Award.
