Stace's journey begins in England, where he was raised by a charismatic but eccentric father who encouraged his son's musical and literary ambitions. At the age of 15, Stace formed the band John Wesley Harding, which became a critical and commercial success in the early 1990s. However, Stace's success as a musician came at a price, as he struggled with addiction and self-destructive behavior.

In Out Loud, Stace candidly recounts his struggles with mental illness and substance abuse, as well as his eventual recovery. He also provides a fascinating glimpse into the world of rock and roll, offering insights into the creative process and the challenges of maintaining a career in the music industry.

Beyond his music, Stace has also established himself as a successful writer, publishing several novels and short stories. In Out Loud, he reflects on his literary career, exploring the connections between music and literature and the role of creativity in his life.

Out Loud is a raw and honest account of a remarkable life, offering a unique perspective on the intersection of music, literature, and mental health. It is a must-read for fans of Stace's music and writing, as well as for anyone interested in the creative process and the human condition.
