Geography

Algeria is a republic with a democratically elected president. The president is the head of state and government. The legislature is the bicameral National People's Assembly, which consists of the National Assembly and the Senate.

Algeria is a member of the United Nations, the African Union, and the Arab League.

Economy

Algeria has a mixed economy with a large public sector. The country's main industries are oil and gas, which account for over 90% of export earnings. Algeria is the third largest exporter of natural gas in the world.

Other important industries include agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing. Algeria has a large population of young people, which is a potential source of economic growth.

Society

Algeria is a diverse country with a population of over 40 million people. The majority of the population is Arab-Berber, but there are also significant numbers of French, Spanish, and Italian people.
